# Applications

> Group multiple repositories into a single logical application.

## Overview

Applications let you group related repositories into a single unit. Unlike organizations and repositories (which sync from your VCS), applications are created manually to match how you organize your products.

Common groupings include frontend, backend, and mobile repositories for a single product, or all repositories owned by a specific team.

## What applications provide

* **Aggregated vulnerability counts**: See open vulnerabilities across all linked repositories
* **Unified filtering**: Filter vulnerabilities across multiple repositories at once
* **Product ownership**: Map security posture to product teams
* **SBOM export**: Generate [SBOMs](/concepts/sboms) covering all linked repositories
