# Auto assignment

> Automatically assign new vulnerabilities to a default owner.

## Overview

Auto assignment applies a default assignee when new vulnerabilities are created. This helps route fresh findings to the right owner without manual triage.

## How it works

* A default assignee can be set per repository
* New vulnerabilities in that repository inherit the default assignee
* You can still reassign or unassign any vulnerability at any time

## Where to configure

In the repository settings, set **Default Assignee** for the repository you want to route automatically.

## Notes

* Auto assignment only applies to newly created vulnerabilities
* Clearing the default assignee stops automatic routing for that repository
