Snoozes temporarily pause follow-up while a valid vulnerability waits for remediation, an upstream fix, or a planned review window. The finding remains visible, and Cysmiq records the request and approval history.
Availability depends on your Cysmiq plan.

Prerequisites

  • A vulnerability you can access
  • Snoozes enabled for the workspace
  • An approver role configured when approval is required

Steps

1

Review the governance rules

Workspace owners configure snooze approvals, limits, and approver roles from Settings > Snoozes. Rules can apply across the workspace or be overridden for an organization, repository, or application.Check the effective settings before submitting a request. When approval is disabled, Cysmiq applies the snooze immediately. See Snoozes for the available settings and defaults.
2

Request a snooze

Open the vulnerability and expand Snooze. Choose a duration and add a reason that helps the approver understand why follow-up should pause, then select Request snooze.

A seven-day snooze request with context for the approver.

Available durations are 1, 3, 7, 14, or 30 days.
3

Review the request

When approval is required, the request remains pending. Cysmiq shows the requested duration and requester:
  • An authorized approver can select Approve or Reject.
  • The requester can select Cancel request when they are not also an approver.
  • Other users see Awaiting approval.

4

Verify the active snooze

After approval, the Snooze section shows when the pause ends. The vulnerability remains available in Cysmiq, and related open or pending-review policy violations are paused for the same window.

5

End the snooze early

An authorized approver can select Clear snooze when work should resume before the scheduled end. Otherwise, the snooze expires at the end of its approved window.Clearing or expiring a snooze resumes normal follow-up. It does not close or resolve the vulnerability.
